Benefiting from the solid support of the Columbia stock company, which here includes a delightful Evelyn Keyes, William "Wild Bill" Elliott makes a fine and stalwart hero in Beyond the Sacramento, one of those well-crafted B-Westerns that is very hard to dislike. Nothing new or unusual happens, but Elliott's no-nonsense approach to screen acting coupled with Dub Taylor's southern-fried patter makes for entertaining viewing even for today's more jaded audiences.
