synopsis
Documentary filmmaker Gerald Igor Hauzenberger spends six years exploring Teutonic culture in Transylvania to offer a detailed study on a region that was once a notable German enclave. As the German population of Transylvania rapidly dwindles, Hauzenberger explores the history of these curious émigrés by focusing his attentions on an embittered descendent of the original Saxon settlers and a world weary woman of Landler stock who spent five years in a Soviet gulag following the end of World War II.
