Seventeen years after launching its hugely successful "Roman Porno" line of softcore pinku eiga films, the once mighty Nikkatsu studio fell victim to the same market forces which killed low-budget exploitation films worldwide, the staggering popularity of adult videos. This final theatrical pinku eiga film from the legendary studio proper (its stepchild, Excess Films, limped along for years thereafter) was calculated to stress Nikkatsu's importance as a launching ground for new talent. Novice director Daisuke Goto and a young cast come through with an entertaining melodrama that recalls the studio's 1970s heyday. Kyoko Hirota plays a shy officeworker who is mistaken for one of her trampy fellow employees, and decides to play that role, casting aside her inhibitions and learning what she'd been missing both in life and in bed. Shuichi Nagano and Yoko Takaki co-star.
