This made-for-television movie was the pilot for the series Beauty and the Beast. An attorney (Linda Hamilton) in New York City has her life saved by a huge, deformed but gentle man-beast named Vincent (Ron Perlman). Vincent, not wishing to live among "normal" people, lives in the underground tunnels beneath the city. Against their better judgment, the two start falling in love with each other.
