Baby Broker (1981)
by Hal Erickson review

Born to Be Sold is a Lynda Carter vehicle from top to bottom, produced by Carter's then-husband and manager Ron Samuels. The erstwhile Wonder Woman is here a wonder social worker who suspects that Harold Gould's adoption agency isn't as above-board is it seems. Carter's instincts are right on target: Gould is in cahoots with crooked Dean Stockwell and Sharon Farrell, who are dealing in "black market babies". Less than an hour into the film, Carter is attacked and nearly murdered in her home by an unknown assailant, convincing her all the more that she's on the right trail. Inspired by Lynn McTaggart's book The Baby Brokers, Born to Be Sold would have been better without the "vanity production" onus it carries in every frame.
