synopsis
The Axe is what some theatres gave this low-budgeter-at least until the title was changed. In the light of the success of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, the producers found it expedient to redub the film The California Axe Massacre. Director Frederick Friedel also wrote the script, securing himself a juicy (or should we say bloody?) featured role. As for the plot....well, the ad campaign for The Axe went something like "Total Terror! You'll be too scared to breathe!"
