synopsis
Not much is known about the German Autumn Love, except for the fact that it was completed several years before leading lady Lya De Putti emigrated to the U.S. in 1926. Eugene Klopfer plays a world-famous opera star who picks De Putti out of obscurity and bestows fame and fortune upon her. Though grateful to Klopfer, De Putti is in love with a man closer to her own age. At first, the vainglorious Klopfer does not want to let the girl go, but he resigns himself to the Inevitable. Sadly, Lya De Putti's starring career was a short one; she died of tuberculosis in 1931 at the age of 29.
