In this comedy about a young man not quite coming of age, a gangly, uncoordinated student has rather free-wheeling fantasies about future female conquests that crash up against the reality of his failures in that department. He is rebuffed by the woman he really likes, has a brief fling with a woman he really does not care for, and continues to look for romance in all the wrong places. As he handles stereotypical middle-class parents and various other incongruous situations, there does not seem to be much hope for future change - it is as though the young man's development might have come to a grinding halt at the age of 20. Perhaps the director had a sequel in mind.
