The life story of educator, social worker, and civil rights leader Antonia Pantoja (1922-2002) is told here via home movies, archival footage, and personal testimonies from the people she helped and influenced. As a black Puerto Rican, Pantoja was in a prime position to take on racism and discrimination and she looked to young people to take the lead for social change by founding the nonprofit ASPIRA. Producer/director Lillian Jiménez profiles Pantoja in this 53-minute effort from Women Make Movies.
