Synopsis by Brian J. Dillard

As the grind of Wolfram & Hart beings to eat away at Angel (David Boreanaz), he starts to doubt the veracity of the Shanshu prophecy, which predicts that the vampire with a soul will become human again after averting the apocalypse (see "To Shanshu in L.A."). The broody corporate CEO soon gets a lesson in heroism when a murderous Aztec spirit called Tezcatcatl begins offing champions. The fiend's trail leads Angel to Numero Cinco (Danny Mora), a Wolfram & Hart mailroom clerk, who is the sole surviving member of Los Lunchadors -- five superheroic brothers who fought evil in the '50s while clad in the regalia of Mexican wrestlers. As Tezcatcatl closes in, Angel tries to recruit Numero Cinco to his cause. But first he must solve the mystery of why a champion would abandon his calling for a life of corporate drudgery. Originally broadcast November 5, 2003, on the WB network, "The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco" marked season 5, episode 6 of the supernatural soap opera. In addition to Angel's typical orchestral score, this episode features the music of hip Tex-Mex band Calexico.
