The Swedish Andra Dansen, Viaggio al Nord (English title: The Last Dance) is a female "road" picture a la Thelma and Louise (which it preceded by nearly a decade). Lisa Hugoson stars as Anna, a prostitute; Kim Anderzon co-stars as Jo, an avant-garde musician. The two women find themselves travelling companions as they seek out new lives for themselves. Along the way, Anna and Jo come into contact with all sorts of eccentrics and at one point must fend off a potential rapist. This leisurely-paced "search for oneself" exercise received its largest viewership when it was presented at the World Film Festival in Montreal.
