synopsis
This Selig "trick" picture was released on the same reel as the more ambitious studio product Sealed Instructions. An old maid goes to great lengths to attract an eligible bachelor. Pretty soon, the bachelor discovers that he cannot escape the spinster's presence. Through the magic of double-exposure photography, everything he picks up or comes across transforms into the image of the ardent old biddy. Even a cab driver metamorphoses into the old maid right before the bachelor's eyes. The film ends as the bachelor tries to escape his fate by mounting a horse -- which, inevitably, likewise changes into an equestrian facsimile of the ineluctable spinster.
