Although Ana Mendieta is not as well known as many other artists, her highly original works have left their mark on the art world. Her Cuban background and an experimental approach suffuse her art with a unique energy and vision. She created performance works, and used her own body as a medium in art pieces, especially in the Silueta series, where her silhouette merged with the landscape. Ana Mendieta provides interviews with the artist, and showcases some of the videos she produced, along with her drawings, prints, and sculptures. Tragically, Mendieta died at the age of 37.
