synopsis
Written and directed by Hall Bartlett, this is an early Sidney Poitier vehicle in which a small marine squadron is fighting against-all-odds in a battle with the Chinese in the Korean War. First, though, they have to come to grips with their own internal battles, which erupt because their new commander is black. Somewhat hackneyed story line, but still a powerful message of men uniting against a common enemy despite their own prejudices and shortcomings.
