Director Sidney Olcott was apparently in the midst of filming this tale of Irish patriotism and English oppression when the British Isles entered into World War I. Since he was filming on location in Ireland, he had a difficult time completing the picture and getting it back to the U.S., but by mid-1915 it was ready for release. Eileen Donaghue (Valentine Grant) and Myles Murphy are a young Irish couple in the midst of a romance. They ignore their country's troubles with England until a spy for the British, Fagin, tries to force himself on Eileen. Myles gives him a sound thrashing and Fagin swears revenge. He turns Myles in to the British and the young man is marched off to prison. Eileen helps him to escape, and they manage to elude the British soldiers, who are in close pursuit. Myles boards a ship headed for France and promises to send for Eileen and her mother once he is settled there.
