Alexander Meillier's documentary Aliintoas Ruby Blade: A Story of Love and Revolution shares the remarkable story of Kristy Sword Gusmao, an Australian filmmaker who began a work investigating a neighboring nation named Timo-Leste, and in turn became so passionately involved in the plight of the land that she worked side-by-side with a revolutionary leader named Xanana for the cause of independence. Eventually, the relationship between the filmmaker and the guerilla takes an unexpected turn.
