ALF is shocked to discover that his parents lied to him when they told him they weren't married at the time of his birth. It seems that back on Melmac, it was a disgrace to have been born "in wedlock"--and ALF is dutifully disgraced. Deciding to retreat from the world and "contemplate life's vicissitudes", ALF enters a monastery, where his fellow monks accept his presence, furry body and all.
