Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
Village life in post-World War I Finland is the theme of this film. Among the stories explored is that of a young governess who brings a breath of humanity into the life of a neglected boy. The town in which he lives makes much of its living in the black market, through smuggling prohibited items.
