Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Director Roger Tilton captures a popular jazz band performing alongside a pair of professional dancers at Manhattan's Central Park Dance Hall in a film considered by many experts to the be first example of the cinema verite form. Also included is a jazz jam session specially staged for television by swing veterans Roy Eldridge, Cozy Cole, and Coleman Hawkins, and purported to have taken place in the small hours of the night as the city of New York slept peacefully all around them.
