Synopsis by Cara Saposnik
Bridging the artistic traditions of East and West, Chinese artist Chang Dai-chein is the fascinating focus of this documentary. China has one of the oldest and richest painting traditions, including many innovations more recently adopted in the West. Chang Dai-chein was the first Chinese artist to be recognized internationally not only as an original painter, but also as a master emulator. Filmmakers Carma Hinton and Richard Gordon explore ancient customs as they explore a man who bridges traditions of the past and present with those of East and West.
