Synopsis by Nathan Southern

The uniqueness of Brittany and Normandy among French cities lies in their shared preservation of ancient Celtic traditions and distinct landscapes, bordered as they are by steep, rocky coastlines. Highlights of these towns include the Bayeux Tapestry, with its amazingly detailed record of William the Conqueror's expeditions in 1066, and the Abbey of Mont St. Michel, which remains a focal point for both secular interests and religious pilgrimages. This ambience release leads the audience on a pictorial journey of both cities, set to music including Camille Saint-Saëns's Organ Symphony and Romance in C. major, Op. 48 and César Franck's Prelude and Chorale.
