Synopsis by Michael Hastings
In this short documentary, Vancouver native Ilan Saragosti explores the ever-growing world of speed dating: pre-arranged seven-minute meetings between professional men and women looking for love, but averse to the pitfalls of singles bars and personal ads. Saragosti focuses, in particular, on speed dating among Jews interested in dating and marrying within their sect, which, not coincidentally, is how A Match Made in Seven explains the process was invented in the first place: by rabbis in Los Angeles, concerned that too many young, Jewish men and women were marrying outside of the religion.
