Synopsis by Janiss Garza

For a few months at the Vim studios, big Oliver Hardy and the equally large Kate Price would make a winning comic team. This is their first picture together, and it also features one of Hardy's former co-stars, Raymond McKee (in 1916, Hardy's final partner, and the one who would bring him fame, Stan Laurel, was still playing vaudeville and hadn't yet broken into pictures). A wife (Florence McLoughlin) refuses to do anymore household chores, so she and her husband (McKee) ask their cook (Price) if she knows a good maid. The cook says she knows just the woman for the job -- she doesn't reveal that it's her lazy husband, Plump (Hardy), whom she's going to force into wearing a maid's uniform. Plump's presence disrupts the household -- even though Plump is posing as a woman, the cook becomes jealous when she sees him forging a close friendship with the wife, and then the husband starts flirting with him. Things continue to get more complicated until the cook can take it no longer and she attacks Plump, revealing that he is a man. The wife, angry at being fooled, also attacks him. Then the husband, even more chagrined at the thought that he'd been flirting with a man this whole time, joins in the fracas.
