A documentary exploring the mid-20th century battle against polio, a childhood disease that permanently crippled millions of children. Tracing the history of polio from the first World War I outbreaks to the life-saving efforts of scientists Jonas Salk and Edward Sabin, the documentary includes extensive historical footage and interviews with such polio survivors as writer Todd Gitlin and editor Ben Bradlee.
