A blind author hires an assistant to help with the writing of his literary swan song, but discovers too late that his new helper has a deadly agenda all her own. His eyesight taken in a tragic accident, respected scribe Sir Paul (Tom Conti) hires Jane Ryder (Daryl Hannah) to help him complete his last novel. Undaunted by her occasionally gruff employer and quick to catch on, Jane seems like the perfect woman for the job until a series of suspicious incidents begin to add up. By the time Sir Paul realizes that Jane intends to kill him, she has become his sole connection to the outside world. Now trapped inside his own home with a menacing stranger, terrified Sir Paul realizes he will have to fight back in order to survive.
