Synopsis by Mark Deming
Spiritual wisdom struggles against the desire for revenge in this vintage Hong Kong martial arts action picture. Chu Sao Chieh is a young boy whose father has earned the enmity of the Eight Masters, a band of evil but supremely skilled martial arts fighters. As the Eight Masters stage a raid upon his home, Chu Sao Chieh manages to escape and finds refuge in a Shaolin Temple; his father, however, is not so fortune and dies in the attack. The boy is raised by the Shaolin monks and learns how to fight, and just as importantly when not to fight. However, the adult Chu Sao Chieh (Carter Wong) in time realizes he must face the men who killed his father, and takes on all eight in a hair-raising conclusion.
