Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
Perhaps the most noteworthy feature of this amateur Icelandic first feature -- by any director at any point in the country's history -- is that a few real U.S. army officers have been enlisted as actors to portray U.S. army officers. That should not be a challenge except that the fictional officers are boozing, crass, and corrupt. Other than that bit of excitement, the plot itself is simple. A widow (Kristbjorg Kjeld) has had to turn to prostitution (mainly with the American soldiers stationed at the nearby Keflavik military base) in order to survive. She meets an interesting taxi driver and for awhile, it looks like romance will triumph -- until the taxi driver discovers what his lady love does in her spare time.
