Synopsis
A two-hour retrospective of the significant events of 2001 features a final hour devoted to the Sept. 11 attacks and the aftermath, including rescue efforts, profiles of hijackers, anthrax contamination, the economic impact, and the war on terrorism. Other topics include the execution of Timothy McVeigh, the USS Greenville's collision with a Japanese fishing boat, the election of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, and Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman's split.
