Hungarian director László Nemes’ historical drama film unfolds in Budapest in 1913 – before the advent of World War I. A young woman (Juli Jakab) returns to her late parents’ hat store (now rebuilt and managed by a savvy businessman) to work as a milliner. She aims to find her missing brother, who may have been responsible for the fire that killed their parents when she was two.
