Director Agnieszka Holland’s historical thriller is a biopic of Gareth Jones, the Welsh journalist who broke the news of the catastrophic Soviet famine of 1932-33 to the Western Hemisphere. Starring James Norton, Vanessa Kirby, and Peter Sarsgaard, it follows Jones’ journalistic assignment to Moscow, his shocking discovery of the Holodomor famine in Ukraine, and his struggle to publish his findings upon his return to the United Kingdom.
