Synopsis by Clare Perez-Izaguirre Lopez
This biographical drama and true story directed and co-written by Justin Kelly tells the bizarre and complex tale of author Laura Albert (Laura Dern) as she convinces Savannah Knoop; the awkward and shy half-sister of her boyfriend Geoff (Jim Sturgess) to personify her fictional literary creation Jeremiah Terminator LeRoy. LeRoy has a huge following including many famous figures meaning her public appearances are highly reported. But can Savannah give the audience what they want? Will the hoax be revealed? Based on the memoir Girl Boy Girl: How I Became JT LeRoy by Savannah Knoop.
