Directed by Hanna Bergholm, this Finnish horror film focuses on the family of twelve-year-old Tinja (Siiri Solalinna), a budding gymnast who feels a bit insecure about her body and skills. This is because she desperately wants to please her mother (Sophia Heikkilä), who’s a popular blogger and always features social media-worthy posts of a perfect family life. Unbeknownst to her family, Tinja discovers a mysterious egg one day and brings it home, nurturing it until it hatches. But what comes out is a doppelgänger of the teenage girl and the horrors that come with such a hatchling.
