Warner presents The Yearling, a heart-warming film for the whole family. The Yearling is presented in a decent looking 1.33:1 full frame transfer. There are a few minor imperfections to be found on this transfer (including some grain and a few scratches on the print), though overall this is a rather nice picture that should please children and fans alike. The soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 1.0 Mono in English, French and Spanish, and sounds just like a audio mix from 1946 should -- flat and fairly lifeless. While dynamic range and fidelity are sorely missing, overall the mix sports crystal clear dialogue, effects and music. Also included on this disc are English, Spanish and French subtitles. Only a few extra features have been tacked on this disc, including a short, full frame cartoon titled "The Cat Concerto," a few production notes, and a theatrical trailer for the film.
