One of John Ford's most charming films, The Quiet Man comes to DVD with a standard full-frame transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.33:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Mono. There are no subtitles, but the soundtrack is closed captioned. Supplemental materials include a making-of featurette hosted by Entertainment Tonight television critic Leonard Maltin, and a theatrical trailer. Artisan has done a fine job on this classic title, although the door has been left open for a deluxe edition.
