Writer Arthur Miller penned the screenplay for this adaptation of his classic play {+The Crucible. Starring Daniel Day-Lewis and Winona Ryder, the film tells the story of an actual witch hunt in a Puritanical early American village. Also starring Joan Allen, who received an Academy Award nomination for her supporting performance, The Crucible makes its way to DVD with a widescreen transfer and a Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound soundtrack. There are dubbed tracks in Spanish and French as well as English and Spanish subtitles. Along with the film itself, the disc includes a making-of featurette, an interview with Miller and Day-Lewis, and the original theatrical trailer.
