Robert Stevenson's family classic Old Yeller comes to DVD with this impressive two-disc set from Disney/Buena Vista. The disc offers a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.75:1. This is easily the best this film has ever looked on home video. The English soundtrack is impressively rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. Spanish subtitles are accessible, and the soundtrack is closed captioned. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by actors Fess Parker, Tommy Kirk, and Kevin Corcoran; a theatrical animated short; a featurette documenting the filmmakers reminiscing about the film's production; additional interviews with Tommy Kirk; production archives; and a 1957 Disney studio album. This is a wonderful family disc that offers extras that will appeal to kids, adults, and film enthusiasts.
