Jack and the Beanstalk: The Real Story
Description by Buzz McClain

After watching the two making-of segments on the DVD, it seems everyone who had anything to do with the making of Jack and the Beanstalk: The Real Story had a great time doing it, loved working with director Brian Henson, and loved every minute of it. What do you expect them to say? The guy paid their salaries, of course they're going to love him. There are a few true behind-the-scenes shots of on-set activity that reveal how many of the special effects were rendered, but most of it is clips from the film punctuated with video interviews. The disc's images look crisp and clear, as you would expect in a digitized format. The Dolby 2.0 sound, the original format for the film's TV presentation, is the default setting on the disc; be sure to go to the Audio Special Features and opt for the Dolby 5.1 to get the full benefit of the Surround sound.
