Aside from a fine transfer and good sound, there is not much else on the DVD release of Hugh Hudson's I Dreamed of Africa. One can watch the film in either a widescreen anamorphic 2.35:1 transfer or the standard full-frame 1.33:1 image. The English soundtrack is recorded in Dolby Digital 5.1. Viewers may feel like they are on safari right in their own living rooms. Subtitles are available in English. The disc includes the theatrical trailer, talent bios, production notes, and a pedestrian "making of" featurette that first aired on HBO. |
