biography
A scion of the famous California railroad and land development dynasty, Mayo Newhall (born William Mayo Newhall) turned up in several MGM productions in the 1940s, most notably as Mr. Braukoff in Meet Me in St. Louis (1944), the fearsome neighbor "killed" by little Tootie's water-fortified flour. Newhall died in 1958.
