The multi-talented Thomas Robsahm was seemingly destined to be a filmmaker, considering the circumstances of his life. He is the son of the late Italian actor Ugo Tognazzi and Norwegian director/actor Margrete Robsahm, as well as brother to actors/siblings Gian Marco Tognazzi and Ricky Tognazzi. He began acting at the age of eight and appeared in a handful of films until 1981, when he began working behind the camera. Robsahm directed his first film in 1992, entitled Svarte Pantere. In 1995, he added yet another credit to his name, that of producer, when he formed Speranza Films.
