A cameraman on such silent films as The Girl of the Golden West (1923), Michigan-born Thomas L. Storey later became an assistant to serial director Spencer Gordon Bennet, collaborating on such chapterplays as The Fire Detective (1929) and Queen of the Northwoods (1929). Working exclusively in low-budget action fare, Storey collaborated on both the screenplay and the direction of The Last Frontier (1932) and the canine drama Man's Best Friend (1935). He sometimes billed himself Thomas Sawyer Storey.
