biography
Polish screenwriter and filmmaker Tadeusz Konwicki first worked as a film critic during the late 1940s. He then became a screenwriter known for such films as Koecher's The Career (1955). In 1958, he made his directorial debut with the highly acclaimed, very personal account of the aftermath of WW II, The Last Day of Summer.
