biography
Torch singer Ruth Etting was a popular recording and radio star who also worked in Broadway musicals and in a few editions of the Ziegfeld Follies between the late '20s and early '30s. She also appeared in a few shorts and features during the early 1930s. In 1955, her tempestuous life became the subject of a powerful musical biopic from MGM, Love Me or Leave Me. Ettig was frequently consulted during the making of this film to insure accuracy.
