Robert O. Cook on AllMovie

Robert O. Cook worked in various capacities at Walt Disney Studios, from 1930 until his retirement in 1971. Born in Manitowoc, WI, he started out on a Hollywood radio station in 1927. Three years later, the Disney Sound Recording Company hired him. By 1938, Cook had been promoted to the supervisor of Disney Studio's editorial department. In that capacity, he edited such films as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) and Pinocchio (1940). In 1956, Cook became the studio's sound director, a position he held until his retirement. As a sound director, Cook received Oscar nominations for The Parent Trap (1961), Bon Voyage (1962), and Mary Poppins (1964).
