biography
Robert Jiras created the first makeup department for CBS television and became one of the medium's early pioneering talents. Jiras expanded his resumé by working in film makeup and was hence an instrumental element to some pretty impressive and memorable movies. Apart from his work in film, he also wrote, produced, and directed the 1983 film I Am the Cheese, as well as picking up professorial duties at both Dartmouth College and Boston University. Jiras died in early 2000, at the age of 77.
