biography
R.C. Sherriff penned many notable screenplays, alone or with others, during the '30s, '40s, and '50s. He was also a noted playwright (best known for the classic Journey's End) who began his career in the 1920s after working as an insurance clerk and fighting in WWI as an infantry captain. In addition to his theatrical efforts, Sherriff has published novels.
