biography
Entering films as an actor in 1919, Raymond Cannon could be seen in such diverting roles as Sporty Malone in D. W. Griffith's True Heart Susie. As a screenwriter, Cannon's silent-movie credits included Buster Keaton's Go West (1925). He graduated to director in 1929, helming three of the Fox Studio's last silent efforts. Raymond Cannon went on to direct talkies at Columbia, moving on to gradually smaller studios until his retirement in 1937.
