biography
A handsome leading man of such early American films as Maid of the Mist (1915) and The Grind (1915), both starring Pauline Bush, Ray Gallagher had played juvenile leads for stage entrepreneur Oliver Morosco when discovered for the movies in 1911 by French director/producer Gaston Méliès. Less busy in the '20s, where he played supporting roles in such major films as Trail of '98 (1928), Gallagher continued in films until at least 1936. His death was attributed to a heart attack.
