Production designer and art director Philip M. Jefferies worked on many films from the mid '60s through the mid '80s. Following WW II service, he broke into the industry as an illustrator at Universal studios. He next went to Warner Brothers. As a production designer, Jefferies earned an Academy Award nomination for Tom Sawyer in 1973.
