Biography by AllMovie

A handsome juvenile lead in Italian films under his real name of Lido Manetti, Arnold Kent came to Hollywood in 1925 due to a slump in Italian film production. Striking out at first as Lido Manetti, the newcomer changed his name to the less ethnic moniker and enjoyed some success at Paramount opposite Clara Bow in Hula, Pola Negri in Woman on Trial, and as one of Gary Cooper's fellow legionnaires in Beau Sabreur (1928). A rising young leading man, Kent was vying for the role eventually played by Matt Moore in Mary Pickford's Coquette (1929) when he was killed in a car accident in Hollywood.
